My evaluation of the man , the myth,and the legend that was bruce lee will ultimatley be a biased one,as i have been a fan of his since about 1985 when i was a baby and first saw "enter the dragon", he has always been part of my life in one way or another ,wether it was just watching his movies or an alcohol fuelled argument about philosophys back home in london with my mates,bruce lee and his ideals are never far from me.The man himself i obviously never knew and i would be an idiot to say he was perfect in everyway but one thing was clear was that he was a groundbreaker a role model and an extremely excellent executer of the martial arts who will probably never be topped in times to come.He had his faults,some say he became aloof and arrogant but i feel these rumors were started by haters who wanted to poke a man who couldnt reply(because he was dead) so i dont pay much attention to them.Some people say bruce never proved himself in official circles....what i say to that is well he didnt need to its well known that he sparred with world karate champion chuck norris and many more martial art champions and they all came of worst so something tells me that he didnt need to prove anything,and tournaments and the suchlike went against all he hated about martial arts and rigidity adhering to rules etc etc so i think we all know that bruce lee really was one of the greatest fighters to walk the earth.Doctors report that mairujuana was detected in him well im sorry but thats hardly cocaine is it? fact is nicotine and alcohol are comparitively more damaging and addictive so i defintley dont feel bruce lee is tainted as someone to look up to but thats another debate!As for his personal life love life and so on well i think while it adds to his mystique i think well it should really stay personal after all if you are a bruce lee fan you wont be intrested in gossip and idol rumors.He has inspired many famous people the likes of jackie chan who i feel is the only man capable of matching bruce lee in determination and drive to bring martial arts to everyone while jackie chan probably couldnt match bruce lee in a contest, but thats not what im talking about.If you want to pin me down on who i think could rival bruce lee in a contest it would have to be jet li,while i feel bruce lee would still overaw jet,jet is a ex-shaolin monk with training behind him,where as most martial art film stars are either trained in performing schools or copy styles move for move for whatever role they have to play.jet is also a winner of the shaolin kumate five times(i think!) so that alone warrants respect,but at the end of the day jet li learnt a structured art and competed in sructured tournaments with rules and boundaries,bruce lee.........did not,thats the difference,all in all everyone who devotes their life to the arts deserves respect........yes even van damme ha ha as you need determination heart and spirit to succed all the exponents of the arts have these qualitys.Bruce lee left the earth with great philosophys great ideas and good movies for that im personaly gratefull haha but for all you people out there who doubt bruce lee i hope now even if you still doubt him at least after reading my site at least you can respect him for what he acheived thanx for reading bye
